'Chicago Fire' adds a puppy to its regular cast

Chicago Fire bekommt Zuwachs. Ein neues reguläres Mitglied stößt zum Cast und zwar eine süße, vierbeinige Dame... eine Hundedame namens Pouch!!

The firemen on "Chicago Fire" are getting a new best friend, and he's got four legs and a tail. Yes, the NBC drama is bringing a puppy named Pouch to Firehouse 51 as part of the regular cast.

Pouch will be introduced on Wednesday's episode when Peter (played by Charlie Barnett) finds the puppy and wants to keep him at the firehouse. Meanies Chief Boden (Eamonn Walker) and Mouch (Christian Stolte) object ... until, of course, everyone falls in love.

Sure, dogs in firehouses are a classic tale, but why add Pouch now? Executive producer and co-creator Derek Haas explained in a statement that while doing a ride-along with the Chicago Fire Dept. last summer, a dog was offered to the firemen.

Exclusive Chicago Fire First Look: Severide Tries to Reconnect With His Dad

Exklusiver erster Blick auf die Folge vom 30. Januar 2013. Kelly Severide trifft nach langer Zeit wieder auf seinen Vater!!

Treat Williams trades in one TV dad gig (on White Collar) for another on this Wednesday’s episode of Chicago Fire (NBC, 10/9c) when he makes his debut as Kelly Severide’s pop — and we’ve got your exclusive first look at the two men meeting up after Kelly makes a big decision about his future.

Kelly’s “life is getting very complicated between what he’s doing with the drugs, his injury, the new woman in his life,” executive producer Michael Brandt previously told TVLine. “When things get really complicated, a lot of times, rugged, maverick individuals [like Kelly] want to turn to something familiar. And that’s what Treat as his father gives us the opportunity to do.”

But will dad, a retired firefighter, support his son’s choice? After all, Brandt noted, “their relationship is also very complicated, and they haven’t seen each other in quite a long time.”

Things Are Heating Up for Chicago Fire's Eamonn Walker

Die Dinge verschärfen sich für Chicago Fire's Eamonn Walker

Eamon Walker spricht in dem Interview mit TVGuide über seine Rolle als Wallace Boden, den Chef der Feuerwehrstation der Serie Chicago Fire:

"I love playing a fireman!" says Eamonn Walker, who costars as Wallace Boden, the stoic fire battalion chief on Dick Wolf's Chicago Fire. The British actor, best known for his role as spiritual inmate Kareem Said on HBO's Oz, is especially thrilled now that Boden is out from behind his desk and going on calls. "How can you play a firefighter and not fight fires?" he asks with a laugh.

The chief is also finally getting some juicy storylines of his own, particularly his attempt to save a young firebug, which culminates in Wednesday's episode (10/9c, NBC). The plot further cements the chief's nurturing role among his troops. "The story [gives] insight into the chief's empathetic relationship with his 'children' in the firehouse," explains Walker, 50.

Next Wednesday, Boden has little time to dwell on that outcome when EMT Gabriela (Monica Raymund) needs his guidance after being pulled away from her job by her cop brother Antonio (Treme's Jon Seda). Their investigation into an epidemic of lethal heroin on the streets of the Windy City "opens up a whole other layer of Chicago," teases Walker.
